Coxa vara is defined as a condition, often bilateral, characterized by:
-a progressive decrease in the angle between the femoral neck and shaft,
– a progressive shortening of the limb, &
-the presence of a defect in the medial part of the neck.

(Microscopically, the tissue in this defect-cartilage resembling an abnormal physis; the arrangement of cells-irregular & ossification- atypical. Adjacent metaphyseal bone-osteoporotic, trabeculae -atrophic)
